Chris Maya's passion for carving has served him well.  It has enabled him to create stunning santos and an expanding series of woodblock prints depicting scenes of California and The Southwest.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Chris grew up in Southern New Mexico, learning the art form of carving with his father in the 1970's.

He expresses his love for New Mexico and its artistic traditions through his art.
