Art: A Palette for Living - Gallery On Glassell

It’s hard to believe the first quarter of 2011 is gone. The rains have given us a beautiful start to Spring. The milder weather ushers in the crops of Spring to the grocer’s and local farmers markets.

In celebration of all the people who work so hard to bring us fresh produce and handcrafted items, The Gallery On Glassell will host “Art of the Marketplace,” from May 14 to June 12. We have some great paintings by Sunni Gibbons, William Galvez, Andrea Gaye, Marjorie Taylor, Ernest Lacy and Annette Fussell that capture the color and character of the marketplace. The opening reception will be held Sat., May 14, 6-9 p.m.

In the weeks leading up to Art of the Marketplace, we invite you to join us for Art of the Olive, Sun., April 10, 2-5 p.m. We will provide you with samples of olives and olive oils from California and Spain that enhance dishes of all types.

Don’t forget, we are open until 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Now that the days are longer and the nights a little milder, a weekend evening stroll through Old Towne Orange is a great change of pace.

You’ll be excited about all the new items we have for you.
