The rains of the past two months have started working their magic. Plants that will bloom in the months ahead cover the formerly brown hills with a carpet of green. Veteran landscape artist Linda Rogers masterfully captures this phenomenon
in many of her paintings.
Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree in art from UCLA.
She completed her masters degree at Long Beach State and settled down painting water colors of California landscapes. Then, about fifteen years ago, she shifted to oils.
During the past few years, Linda has traveled to Jackson Wyoming, Washington State, Napa Valley, Reno-Lake Tahoe and the Santa Ynez Valley. From her photos and field studies, she has completed an impressive body of work that captures the western rural scene for collectors and posterity.
When I look at Linda’s paintings, I feel as though I am walking with her and her old friend Buck, a big black lab, down a country road. Though Buck passed on a few years ago, Linda found another lab, Jonsie to take on her scouting expeditions.
I hope you will drop by The Gallery On Glassell soon to enjoy the art of Linda Rogers. There is something assuring and soothing in each of her paintings that tugs at our quest for nature. Answer the call. Witness the beauty of California as it moves into spring. Then remember it each time you look at your new painting by Linda Rogers.
