July Passport to International Gourmet Cuisine
Four Sundays of tastings from 2-5 pm, July 10-31

Take your summer cuisine to new heights at our four consecutive Sunday gourmet events in July. Come to the gallery, Sunday, July 10, 2-5 p.m. and receive your passport. Come to three of the four events and you are entered in a drawing for $300 in gourmet currency good at The Gallery On Glassell for food items only. You get a different stamp for each event.

MarketJuly 10, French cuisine. We start with French cuisine because Bastille Day is July 14th, just around the corner. After all, the French have done a lot for us. They sent us the statue of liberty. They helped develop our wine industry. Many of the cheeses made here are varieties originally developed by the French. Besides French chocolate and cheese we’ll have mustards, foie gras, Henaff pate, Lucques olives, rouille spices, galettes and candies. You can sample these items with the perfect wines. Don’t miss it.

July 17, Italian cuisine. We are one of the main purveyors of balsamic produced by the Malpighi Family of Modena Italy. But that’s just the start. Taste our new gourmet salamis from Italy’s premier artisan families such as Creminelli with Italian Harvest pasta.

July 24, Spanish cuisine. Plug in your copy of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, brush up on your espanol and shout Ole! This is the cuisine that started our gourmet department at The Gallery On Glassell. From jamon serrano to paella and tapas, we’ll put on a spread fit for Ferdinand and Isabella. The Rioja and Cava will flow and flamenco guitar music will fill the gallery.

July 31 , California cuisine. We combine the cuisines of France, Italy and Spain in a steller tasting menu of recipes from Thomas Keller (French Laundry) Michael Chiarello (Botega), Jose Andres, (Bazaar) and Josiah Citron (Melisse). Don’t miss these events!

At the Gallery On Glassell, we consider cooking an art form. As such, our newest artist is Grampy Pat, a master bread baker. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, we have fresh baguettes, great for slicing and serving the tapenades, flavored olive oils and vinegars we sell. You'll go wild over Grampy Pat's bread once you give it a try. It's our latest step toward making the La Cocinita (little kitchen} section inside the gallery your source for creative cooking and entertaining.
